Zillow’s Home Value Index put it at $454,214. That is $163 less than in August and $9,402 (2.0%) less than in September 2025, when it stood at $463,616. The figures come from the Zillow Home Value Index city series, published by Zillow Research.

What it means for you
- Buyers: the typical home costs about $9,400 less than a year ago. That is a modest cushion, not a crash.
- Sellers: values are still about 48% above September 2020 ($306,052), so most owners who bought before 2021 remain well ahead.
- Renters: rents are moving the other way (see below).
- Your tax bill is based on the Cherokee County assessor’s value, not Zillow’s. Our property tax guide explains the 45-day appeal window.
Zillow’s index is a smoothed, seasonally adjusted estimate for the middle third of homes, whether or not they sold. It is not a median sale price. Zillow also revises earlier months: it now puts Woodstock’s August value at $454,377, not the $456,827 it first published.

The longer view
Woodstock’s typical home value nearly doubled in a decade, from $237,776 in September 2016. Most of the rise came in 2021 and 2022. Since then it has moved within a narrow band.
