4 places for smoked meat inside Woodstock city limits: Queenie's BBQ and MadLife Grill downtown, Bub-Ba-Q and City Barbeque on Highway 92.

Last checked Oct. 6, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

There are four places for smoked meat inside Woodstock’s city limits. Two are downtown, a short walk apart near Elm Street and Main Street, and two are on Highway 92, one on each side of Interstate 575. Barbecue places in the unincorporated parts of the 30188 and 30189 ZIP codes are outside the city limits and are not on this list.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Woodstock’s city limits, the same data behind our business directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 6, 2026. City Barbeque comes from the Georgia Department of Public Health inspection database, which we searched for food service permits inside the city limits. Three of the four websites would not load for us, so for those a state inspection record confirms the restaurant is operating, and the phone number comes from the OpenStreetMap record. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.

The places

Bub-Ba-Q is a barbecue restaurant in the shopping center at 10020 Highway 92, the same center as Sushi Bros and GW Gyro & Wings. Its website would not load for us when we checked, so a Dec. 11, 2025, state inspection record confirms it is operating. Call before you go for hours and the day’s menu.

City Barbeque is a barbecue chain with a restaurant at 8040 Highway 92, west of Interstate 575. The chain’s location page would not load for us, so a Sept. 3, 2026, state inspection record confirms it is operating. It has no phone number in OpenStreetMap; check the chain’s site for hours.

MadLife Grill is the Southern kitchen inside MadLife Stage and Studios, the live music venue on Main Street. It is not a barbecue restaurant as such, but its page describes scratch cooking, smoked meats and in-house baking, and it serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Free shows on its Patio Stage run in good weather. Reservations are on extension 2 of the main number.

Queenie’s BBQ is on Elm Street downtown, near the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village and the city’s amphitheater. Its website would not load for us, so a Nov. 4, 2025, state inspection record confirms it is operating. The state record lists the permit at 604 Oak St.; the restaurant’s own listing uses 105 Elm St.

Before you go

  • Downtown parking is free in the City Center East deck, a short walk from Elm Street and Main Street.
  • Three of the four websites would not load for us on Oct. 6, so we could not confirm hours. Call ahead, especially early in the week.
  • MadLife Grill is closed Monday; its kitchen hours start at 5 p.m. on weekdays.
